I’m cute, about a foot tall, have slightly succulent-looking foliage, and am growing in full sun at the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens in Fort Bragg, California. Sadly, I have no identification. Can anybody tell me my name, preferably in Latin?
Shame on me for not remembering that I’d seen and photographed this very plant at Hortus Botanicus on a previous visit. It was even labeled. In my defense, it’s not something I see in local nurseries.

Wow. Nice photos, good blog. You’re also a beauty! I am a landscaper and live on the Mendocino Coast so it’s all very familiar! In fact I designed and installed one of these gardens years ago!
It is Orphium frutescens – a native of South Africa. You can find it at Annie’s Annuals.

Thank you, Marta!
I love Annie’s Annuals but mail order shipping to Tennessee is out of the equation! What a wonderful plant and my favorite colors green and pink!
