Don’t do it. Or at least don’t get rid of your charcoal grill. My husband won’t let me get a charcoal grill since we already have a gas one that works fine. It’s convenient but my heart aches for charcoal…

We’ve been cooking on a gas grill for 15 years (we inherited it). It is incredibly convenient, and we BBQ all year long. I’m glad we have it. But when I have wood fired BBQ , oohhh, I can taste the difference. So, I agree – don’t get rid of your charcoal grill. But try wood 😉
OK, so it sounds like I need to keep the charcoal grill (though I lack the patience to start the coals), add a gas grill for convenience, and get a wood-fired BBQ for flavor. Don’t think I haven’t seen those fabulous wood-fired outdoor pizza ovens. But we’re talking baby steps here. I will start with the gas grill. Besides, they’re supposedly more environmentally friendly than charcoal.
You know, we have had the gas grills but my hubby went back to a basic Webber round grill and says he will never go back to gas.

Yeah, you can’t use a charcoal grill on “spare the air” days. We inherited a charcoal grill and luckily don’t have room for two grills.
